OS.20 is the twentieth iteration of the Onsite furniture concept. Presented at Den Frie in Copenhagen, it occupied the gallery as a modular, flexible organism inviting public use.
Onsite Prototype No. 20
Created for the OVERLAP exhibition at Den Frie Centre of Contemporary Art, OS.20 continues Sebastien Wierinck’s investigation into adaptable public furniture systems. The installation reused the steel structures first developed for OS.07, demonstrating how the Onsite system evolves across projects while generating new spatial configurations.
Constructed from industrial drain pipes, the structure occupied the gallery like a flexible organism — bending, unfolding, and extending in response to the space. Far from a static bench, it became an interface between users, architecture, and movement. Visitors were invited to sit, lean, gather, or pause, activating the work through their presence.
Modular and reconfigurable, OS.20 challenges the boundary between object and infrastructure, offering a sculptural form that is both social and open-ended.
