Description
Proposal for Taipei’s Sanying Line: stainless steel urban furniture, unique glazed ceramics, and large-scale architectural light integration.
About
In 2020, the studio was invited to contribute to the Public Art Program of the Sanying Line Rapid Transit System in Taipei, Taiwan.
The proposal unfolded across two distinct sites:
- Site 01: outdoor urban furniture made of stainless steel pipes, integrating lighting and vegetation. Seating areas were covered with glazed ceramic tiles, each piece uniquely crafted to merge functionality and poetry.
- Site 02: a large-scale architectural integration combining tubular structures and ceramic coverings, with multiple ceiling lighting variations.
Through this project, the formal language of pipes and ceramics echoed both modern infrastructures (transport networks, pipelines) and historical references (Roman water pipes, local craftsmanship). The proposal envisioned public design as a meeting point between utility, materiality, and cultural identity.
