PA.01 — Bench
PA.01 — Bench is the first prototype developed within the PANELS series. It explores how flat wooden panels cut on a CNC router can be assembled into a three-dimensional seating structure. The bench relies on a system of interlocking joints and cut-out profiles, transforming two-dimensional sheets into a strong, ergonomic form.
Conceived as both a technical experiment and a functional object, the project highlights the potential of digital fabrication in furniture design: precise toolpaths, efficient nesting to minimize material waste, and a construction logic that can be easily replicated in different contexts.
Beyond its fabrication process, the bench demonstrates how CNC technology can produce durable, modular, and adaptable seating for public or collective spaces. It embodies the core principles of the PANELS series, where structural logic, material efficiency, and cultural use-values converge in a single piece of design.
