OS.18 is the eighteenth iteration of the Onsite furniture concept. Developed for Design City Luxembourg, it proposed low-cost urban objects in seating and partition functions spread across the city.
Onsite Prototype No. 18 – Design City, Luxembourg
OS.18 was developed for the first edition of Design City Luxembourg, a festival organized by Mudam and the city of Luxembourg to explore the impact of design on urban life.
The proposal envisioned a series of objects sharing the Onsite signature language, produced at low cost through simplified structures and rigid tubes. Scattered across the city, these elements combined seating, urban partitions, and other functional variations, bringing the project beyond a single installation and into the scale of the city itself.
By multiplying points of encounter and embedding them in the urban fabric, OS.18 demonstrated how the Onsite system could operate not only as furniture but as a dispersed network of interventions — highlighting design’s potential to shape everyday experience in public space.
Unfortunately, most of the documentation of the project was lost due to a theft, leaving only a few traces of this proposal… .
