Onsite Prototype No. 08 – Bench for Tokyo Eat, Palais de Tokyo (Paris)
Commissioned for Tokyo Eat, the restaurant located inside the Palais de Tokyo contemporary art center in Paris, this bench draws inspiration from the scale and silhouette of a car. Its back-to-back seating configuration offers a playful reinterpretation of shared furniture in a public setting.
The bench was first presented at Designmai Youngster (DMY) in Berlin, then included in the international exhibition “Reason Design Emotion”, curated by Benjamin Loyauté and Fang Xiaofeng. It was subsequently further developed into a new version, exhibited at the Salone Satellite in Milan, at the Lightlab exhibition in Brussels, and is now part of the collection of the Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie Marseille Provence (CCIMP) — underscoring its enduring value as both a design object and a functional prototype.
The piece was produced with the technical support of Recyclart in Brussels, an interdisciplinary cultural center recognized for its commitment to urban production and socially engaged design.
